The client

BDR Thermea Group – one of Europe’s leading manufacturers and distributors of domestic and commercial water and space heating systems – plays an important role in the energy transition, with innovations in sustainable heating technology, including heat pumps, hybrids and hydrogen.

The goal

When the company ran a world-first pilot, heating 12 period homes with its 100% hydrogen boilers in the Dutch town of Lochem, it wanted to alert the media to this groundbreaking achievement. This was a strategically important moment for the company, as it looked to demonstrate the real-life performance of its zero-carbon hydrogen boilers in older, lived-in homes. Not only did it want to showcase hydrogen boilers as an important part of its future portfolio, it also aimed to overcome scepticism about the viability of hydrogen as a heating fuel.

The aim was to generate interest from trade, national and international media, and position BDR Thermea Group as an industry leader in clean heating innovation.

The result

Journalists from local media and international press were invited to the event by Stampa and we organised one-to-one meetings with BDR Thermea Group’s CEO to give the story more context. Stampa’s outreach resulted in coverage across leading publications, in countries including the UK, the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, Italy and France. Among the coverage highlights were features in Handelsblatt and Reuters, and reports in the Financial Times and The Guardian.

Stampa also amplified the event with content for internal and external channels, as well as a LinkedIn campaign. This full service offering from Stampa heightened employee and stakeholder engagement, and put this world-first story on an international stage.
